Kix! is a free-to-air children's and teen's television channel in the UK, broadcasting between 06:00 to 23:30, showing cartoons, extreme sports and music videos. It is owned by CSC Media Group, and was launched on 19 May 2008, replacing a one-hour timeshift of sister channel Pop. Kix! is aimed at boys aged 8–15 years old. The launch of Kix! first emerged through a document posted on the AGB Nielsen Media Research website on 17 April 2008.
Kix! was the fourth dedicated kids' channel to be launched by CSC: its three sister channels are Pop which was launched on 29 May 2003, and shows cartoons and pop music videos for a mixed audience; Tiny Pop, which was launched on 27 July 2004, and shows cartoons for young children and pre-schoolers; and Pop Girl, launched on 6 August 2007, and also shows cartoons and live action shows but is aimed at a female-led audience. Some programmes screened on Kix! are or have been screened on one or more of the sister channels.
On 8 August 2008, Kix! launched onto the Freesat platform on channel 606. The channel along with its sister channels, are all currently only broadcast over digital satellite TV.

The AGB Nielsen Media Research website initially announced that the channel would be called Klix and be put on Sky,[1] however, this was a mistake and the channel is in fact called Kix!. The correction was made with a new document, which stated that all the other details will remain the same as posted in the original article.[2]
At 06:00 on 19 May 2008, Pop +1 ceased broadcast and was directly replaced on-air with Kix! content.

In late 2009, a new programming block within Kix! began. "Teenage Kix!" or simply "Teen Kix!", initially ran from 8pm until the channel's close at 11.30pm, though as of Easter 2010 the block was extended to begin at 6pm. The block includes action and adventure shows, the majority of which were already part of the Kix! schedule prior to the block being established. The introduction of the Teen block also saw the reintroduction of Kix! Xtreme and, for a time, Kix! Mix as full half-hour shows.
At launch, Kix! stated that in addition to cartoons, it would also broadcast music and extreme sports programming. In addition to full scheduled shows, elements of these formats are also occasionally still used as short filler between scheduled programmes.
Music was broadcast under the banner of Kix! Mix, in a similar manner to the Pop Party slots on Pop. The videos on Kix! were principally drawn from the guitar-pop, pop-punk and indie genres. There was also a regular feature, the Kix! Mix Quiz, where two bands would be pitted against each other in a general knowledge test. Since the demise of the half-hour Kix! Mix shows, music videos (chiefly by pop bands such as McFly) have been used as filler on occasion. Following the introduction of the "Teenage Kix!" block, Kix! Mix was reintroduced as a half-hour slot, though again playing power-pop rather than rock music. Kix! Mix Quiz did not return.
Extreme sports coverage was made available through the channel's purchase of imported freesports magazine Planet X. This show featured reports and profiles from the extreme sports world. For a time the slot ceased to be broadcast as a full billed show on Kix!, but clips from the programme continued to be used occasionally used as filler. The half-hour Kix! Xtreme block resumed broadcasting following the launch of Teen Kix!.
Kix! has recently launched a new feature programme, Kix Flix!, which is a film and DVD review programme. The channel had previously broadcast short promotional/review pieces for films under the Kix Flix! banner in a short unbilled slot similar to the Popcorn slot on Pop, but in 2009 a new, more substantial Kix Flix! launched as a billed programme, with profiles of several film/DVD releases in each edition. This programme also airs on the entertainment channel Film24 under the title "Kids Flix!".
